Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (4-9-1-1) complete their two-game weekend set when they take on the Utah Grizzlies (4-7-1-1), tonight, at the Cow Palace. This is the second of seven meetings between these teams this season. The Bulls hold the edge in the season series two points to one.
The last time these clubs faced off San Francisco came away with a 3-2 shootout victory. The Bulls came back from one-goal deficits twice on goals from Mark Lee and Jordan Morrison. Josh Kidd, Kyle Bigos, Damon Kipp, and Dale Mitchell registered assists. In the shootout Tyler Beskorowany blanked Utah, while Ryan McDonough score the game-winner in the third round for San Francisco.
Last night the Bulls lost to the Idaho Steelheads, 6-0. Idaho jumped out to an early lead just 18 seconds into the game. The game remained in reach until the Steelheads scored four third period goals. Pat Nagle pitched the shutout. San Francisco had a season-high 41 shots.
Recently the Bulls offense has been keeping opposing netminders busy. Following last night's contest, San Francisco has now finished with 31 or more shots on goal in six of their last seven games. They have averaged over 34 shots per game over that span.
The Grizzlies are headlined by forward David Vallorani. He leads the team in assists (8), points (11), and is tied for second in goals (3). In addition, two former Bulls, Rylan Galiardi and Martin Lee, will be making their returns to San Francisco.
San Francisco and Utah are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference, with 10 points apiece.
Tonight the first 1,000 fans will be given a Bulls Cow Bell. In addition, the San Francisco Firefighters Local 798 is hosting a Toy Drive. Each fan that brings a new and unwrapped toy receives a "Buy One Get One Free" voucher for either the December 14 or December 27 Bulls game.
This Tuesday, the Bulls will be back in action when they travel to Bakersfield to take on the Condors. The game starts at 7:00pm.
