SF Bulls Stonewalled by Nagle and the Steelheads

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bulls (4-9-1-1) lost to the Idaho Steelheads (8-4-1-1), 6-0, at the Cow Palace Friday night. The Bulls peppered Idaho netminder Pat Nagle with a season-high 41 shots, but were kept off the scoreboard.

Anthony Nigro beat Tyler Beskorowany just 18 seconds into the game. The goal gave an Idaho the early 1-0 lead. After the score, the Bulls played well for remainder of the period, out-shooting the Steelheads 19-11.

In the second period, Idaho extended their lead. Justin Mercier scored 5:22 into the period. San Francisco led 30-17 in shots after 40 minutes.

The third period featured four more Idaho goals. The tallies came from Mercier (shorthanded), Brock Montgomery (power play), William Rapuzzi, and Gaelan Peterson. Nagle held strong in the waning minutes to complete the shutout.

The Bulls will be back in action tomorrow to take on the Utah Grizzlies. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Bulls Cow Bell. In addition, the SF Firefighters Local 789 is hosting a Toy Drive. Each fan that donates a toy receives a "Buy One Get One Free" voucher for either the December 14 or December 17 game.

Bulletins: The 41 shots were one off their all-time record...The 19 shots in the first period were a season-high...Dean Ouellet led the team in shots with 6...San Francisco has committed just two penalties over the last two games...The Bulls out-shot Idaho 41-31.
