
Stingrays Weekly: Toys for Tots, Chase After a Cure and Sing for Santa Highlight Upcoming Weekend fo

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Greenville Road Warriors and Gwinnett Gladiators in a three-game in three-night road trip this week for a record of 2-1-0-0. The road trip started on Friday with a visit to the Bi-Lo Center falling 3-0 to the Road Warriors. The weekend shifted to The Arena at Gwinnett Center to take on the Gladiators Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, forwards Pierre-Luc O'Brien, Greg Stewart and David de Kastrozza scored first-period goals as the Stingrays skated away with a 3-1 victory. Defenseman Nick Tabisz and forward Trent Campbell lit the lamp on Sunday and defenseman Zach Tarkir buried the game-winning shootout goal in the sixth round to defeat the Gladiators 3-2. Goaltender Daren Machesney made 22 saves and stopped five of six Gladiators shooters in the shootout.

Goaltender Philipp Grubauer ranks third in the ECHL with a 1.84 goals-against average, a .934 save percentage and tied for third with 10 wins.
Netminder Daren Machesney is 17 in the league with a 2.97 goals-against average.
Rookie Sean Dolan stands 10 among first-year players with 16 points (6g, 10a), tied for second with four power-play goals and tied for fifth in power-play points (4g, 4a).
Defenseman Johann Kroll is tied for second among league bluliners with two shorthanded points (1g, 1a).
Defenseman Zach Tarkir is 14 among ECHL D-men with 12 points (2g, 10a) and tied for first with two game-winning goals.
