Royals Radio Recon Ready to Prospect for Gold
December 12, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Sinking Spring, PA - The Reading Royals cordially invite you to join us on Tuesday Night (December 13, 2011) from 6 - 7 pm at Jimmy G's Railroad House Sports Bar and Restaurant (152 Woodrow Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA; 610-678-1177) for Radio Recon, the Reading Royals' weekly coach's show.
I think George Bernard Shaw is credited with the quote 'youth is wasted on the young.' I'm not sure how much hockey Mr. Shaw ever watched, but I don't anything's being wasted on young prospects goaltender Mark Owuya or defenseman Derrick LaPoint. I think both these guys have a pretty decent idea about what's at stake and how you go about laying your claim. But then again GBS also apparently said 'I learned long ago never to wrestle with a pig-you just get dirty; and besides, the pig likes it'.....I'm not really not sure what that means, but it sounds pretty cool-and right now I'm just trying to figure out a way to weave it into Crazy Trivia. Anyway, maybe Mark or Derrick or Assistant Coach Tim Branham can help make some sense out of all this on Tuesday night.
We also expect to have the whole Royals' broadcast crew with us, including Scott Rathman, who will have access to a microphone (maybe even the wireless-she's undergoing surgery as we speak....) in the crowd in order to solicit comments and questions from fans. As always, we'll have crazy trivia and giveaways for fans who participate in the show. Royals Radio Recon will be broadcast live on the Royals Broadcast Network (ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading).
