
Toledo Walleye to Host Holiday HockeyFest on December 26

(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye have announced plans for the Holiday HockeyFest event at the Huntington Center scheduled for Monday, December 26. Fans that purchase a ticket to the event will also receive a voucher that can be redeemed for a 2011-12 Walleye game.
HockeyFest will consist of six youth hockey games including eight local high schools. Participating teams are utilizing the Toledo Walleye High School Hockey program ( https://www.toledowalleye.com/hshockey ) to raise money for Clay High School hockey player, Kyle Cannon. Kyle was paralyzed while participating in a game in Dayton, Ohio in December of 2008.
Walleye Manager of Special Events Michael Keedy said, "We are honored to host this unique event in December. This marks the third year that the Toledo Walleye have showcased high school hockey at the Huntington Center. In all three years, the Kyle Cannon benefit event has been a part of the high school schedule. This year, we have taken another step forward to build on the momentum of the first two years and we can't wait for the Holiday HockeyFest."
Doors to the Huntington Center will open at 9:00 a.m. on December 26 and fans will be permitted to leave and re-enter during the Hockey Fest event.
Schedule of games for Holiday HockeyFest:
10:00 a.m. Youth Hockey Team (TBD) vs. Youth Hockey Team (TBD)
11:00 a.m. Youth Hockey Team (TBD) vs. Youth Hockey Team (TBD)
12:00 p.m. Ottawa Hills Green Bears vs. Lake Flyers
2:00 p.m. Springfield Blue Devils vs. Eastwood Eagles
4:00 p.m. Maumee Panthers vs. Anthony Wayne Generals
6:00 p.m. Clay Eagles vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets
Ticket Information
-Each participating team will be selling tickets for $15. Tickets are good for all of the high school games on December 26.
-Tickets can be redeemed at the Toledo Walleye ticket office for any 2011-12 Toledo Walleye home game.
-Each participating team will be donating the money they raised to the Kyle Cannon fund. The goal is to sell 2,000 tickets and raise $10,000 for Kyle's recovery.
There are THREE ways to get tickets to the Holiday Hockeyfest:
(1) Purchase tickets from any of the participating hockey teams
(2) Purchase tickets through the Walleye website at www.toledowalleye.com/hockeyfest
(3) If you're planning to purchase tickets for the December 27 or 30 Walleye games, use the promo code "1226" and your tickets will be good for both events!
