
Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Take off to the Great White North for Meetings against Elmira and Readin

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Gwinnett Gladiators in a four-game series last week earning a week record of 3-1-0-0, an overall record 7-9-0-4 and are currently on a three-game winning streak.
The series opened on Tuesday with the Gladiators taking a 4-1 victory at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. Forward Wayne Simpson scored the lone tally for the Stingrays.
On Thanksgiving, the Stingrays erased a 2-1 Gladiators lead as forward Brandon Hynes netted the game-tying goal at 15:29 of the third period and Simpson provided the overtime heroics 1:02 into the extra session for the 3-2 victory in Duluth, Georgia. Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis earned his first win of the season making 20 saves.
The Stingrays returned to the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday afternoon to take down the Gladiators in regulation, 3-2. Forward Braden Pimm kicked off the scoring for the Stingrays and forwards Patrick Gaul (shorthanded) and Brandon Hynes (power play) added tallies two minutes apart in the second period to seal the victory.
The series finale took place Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum with the Stingrays earning their second shutout of the season, 3-0. Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis stopped all 16 Gladiators shots for his first shutout of the season, forward Branden Gracel lit the lamp 47 seconds into the game and defenseman Garrett Haar and Pimm (power play) added markers in the win. Gracel and Haar finished the contest with a goal and an assist each.

Forward Rob Bellamy is tied for first in the ECHL with two shorthanded assists.
Defenseman Wade Epp is tied for fourth among ECHL rookies with four major penalties.
Defenseman Garrett Haar is tied for 12 among ECHL blueliners with 10 points (two goals, eight assists).
Forward Braden Pimm is currently on a three-game goal scoring streak (three goals) and forward Brandon Hynes is on a three-game point streak (two goals, one assist).
