ECHL Announnces Fine, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Monday announced the following fine and suspensions.

South Carolina's Cherniwchan suspended three additional games

South Carolina's Andrew Cherniwchan has been suspended for three additional games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #177, Gwinnett at South Carolina, on Nov. 29.

Cherniwchan was assessed a match penalty for illegal check to the head under Rule #48.5 at 7:08 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Cherniwchan missed South Carolina's game against Gwinnett on Nov. 30 and will miss games at Elmira (Dec. 5) and at Reading (Dec. 6 and Dec. 7).

Utah's Paquette fined, suspended

Utah's Danick Paquette has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #180, Utah at Bakersfield, on Nov. 29.

Paquette was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for charging under Rule #42.5 at 0:46 of the first period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Paquette will miss Utah's game against Idaho tonight (Dec. 1).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
