WEEK IN REVIEW

Tulsa began the week with a 3-1 setback on home ice to the Allen Americans. The Oilers fired just 21 shots on goal and went 0-for-4 on the power play as former Tulsa forwards, Jack Combs and Gary Steffes each scored for Allen.

On Thanksgiving night at the BOK Center, the Oilers held a 4-3 lead with five minutes remaining in third period but gave up the game-tying goal to Chad Costello on an Americans' power play. Tulsa goalie Brady Hjelle turned aside a season-high 51 shots but Allen converted three of its four shootout attempts to seal a 5-4 victory.

Friday against Quad City, Drew Fisher and Dave Pszenyczny scored just ten seconds apart early in the third period to push the Oilers to a 3-2 win. Kevin Carr made 36 saves as Tulsa improved to 6-0-2 all-time against the Mallards at the BOK Center.

The week wrapped up in Wichita where the Oilers recorded their third shootout win over the Thunder. The 3-2 triumph gave Tulsa five wins in six games against Wichita this season.

TOP OF THE HEAP

Sunday's shootout win in Wichita propelled the Oilers past the Allen Americans and back into first place in the Central Division. Tulsa also took over the top spot in the Western Conference thanks to a slightly higher winning percentage than the second place Idaho Steelheads. With 67 goals in 18 games, the Oilers are the highest-scoring team in the Western Conference and the fourth-highest scoring team in the ECHL. Tulsa also leads the Western Conference in penalty minutes (366) and shootout wins (3).

STEADY PRODUCTION

The Oilers have earned points in seven of their last eight games (5-1-2). Tulsa has suffered back-to-back regulation losses only once this season and has dropped just one game by a margin of more than two goals.

STONE WOLF SERIES UPDATE

The Oilers are 5-1-0 against the Thunder and have a commanding lead in the StoneWolf Casino Cup series. Four of the six contests have been decided beyond regulation and the Oilers have captured victories in all four of those games (1 overtime win, 3 shootout wins). Five of the six meetings have been decided by just a single goal. Tulsa and Wichita will face off twice in the month of December with both games slated for the BOK Center.

CLAMPING DOWN

Through the first 12 games of the season, the Oilers were allowing 4.3 goals per game. Over the last six games, Tulsa is only giving up 2.1 goals per game and has held its opponent to two goals or fewer in five of the last six contests.

THRIVING UNDER PRESSURE

The Oilers continue to find ways to win tight hockey games and boast a 7-1-3 record in one-goal contests.

BEST WEEK EVER

Last week, Kyle O'Kane scored a goal in four consecutive games to post the longest goal streak of his three-year career and the longest goal streak of any Oiler this season. The 27-year old winger, who has five goals and five assists on the season, saw his streak come to an end in Wichita on Sunday.

NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER

After posting a 2-1-1 record in October, the Oilers went 8-4-2 in November to record back-to-back months of winning hockey for the first time since November and December of 2011.

BOORAS AT HIS BEST

Veteran center Jon Booras averaged a point per game in November and finished the month with nine goals and five assists. Booras, named ECHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 23, leads the Oilers with 22 points and is tied for the team lead with 13 assists. The 31-year old posted at least one point in 10 of Tulsa's 14 games in November and registered five multi-point appearances.

CHART-TOPPING TENDER

Rookie goaltender Kevin Carr notched his league-leading tenth win with a 23-save performance against Wichita on Sunday. Carr also leads the ECHL in saves (444), minutes (941), and shootout wins (3). The Unionville, Ontario native has dropped his goals against average to 2.87 and raised his save percentage to .908.

FLYING FISH

Drew Fisher, a third-year winger out of International Falls, Minnesota, has put up two goals and eight assists in his last seven games. The 27-year old, who has played every single game of his career with the Oilers, has recorded a point in six of those seven games and is tied for fourth on the team with 15 points. Fisher leads all Oilers with a +8 rating.

EXTRA DROPS

T.J. Caig leads the ECHL with shootout goals...Adam Pleskach is the league-leader with 86 shots on goal...Matt Larke scored his first goal of the season on Thanksgiving and is on a three-game point streak...The Oilers reached 10 wins in 18 games, their quickest march to double-digit victories since winning 10 of their first 18 in the 2011-12 season.
