The Week That Was...

The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Gwinnett Gladiators and Greenville Road Warriors this week for a week record of 1-1-0-1 and improved their overall ECHL-best record to 11-2-1-2.

The Stingrays hosted the Gladiators on Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum, falling 6-4. The Stingrays erased three one-goal deficits and forward Peter Boyd scored two goals. On Wednesday, the Stingrays wrapped up a four-game in five-day set taking on the Road Warriors in Greenville. Forward Chad Painchaud lit the lamp in regulation, but the Road Warriors prevailed 2-1 in the shootout.

The week closed Sunday with a 3-2 victory over the Road Warriors at the Coliseum. Defenseman Scooter Vaughan (1 goal, 1 assist) and Painchaud (2 assists) each recorded two-point games.

Taking the Lead

Forward Chad Painchaud is seventh in the ECHL with 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists), first with 63 shots and third with nine power-play points (3 goals, 6 assists).

Forward Chris Langkow is tied for first in the ECHL with two shorthanded points (1 goal, 1 assist).

Forward Marc Hagel is second in the ECHL and first among rookie players with three game-winning goals, third among rookies in goals (7) and 11 among first-year players with 10 points (7 goals, 3 assists).

Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is fourth in the ECHL with a 1.90 goals-against average, tied for first in wins (9), first in minutes played (789) and second with 326 saves.
