Recap of Last Week
The Road Warriors started the week off with their first victory on home ice against the South Carolina Stingrays on Wednesday night. Jordie Johnston scored the shootout winner in route to a 2-1 win. Rookie forward Brandon Hynes scored in regulation and in shootouts to begin an outstanding individual week. Jeff Malcolm earned the victory.
The Road Warriors knocked off the Gwinnett Gladiators in regulation on Friday by a score of 2-1. Mike Marcou and Andrew Rowe scored for the Road Warriors and helped propel the team to its second consecutive victory. Jeff Malcolm turned in another strong performance to earn the win.
On Saturday, the Road Warriors traveled to Gwinnett for the second game between the two teams in as many nights. Connor Knapp led the charge in net, earning his first professional shutout with a 3-0 victory. Brandon Hynes scored the game-winner and Sean Berkstresser tallied his first two goals of the season in the win.
The long stretch of games concluded on Sunday against the Stingrays in North Charleston. The game was tied on two different occasions and the third period began with the teams knotted at two. The final goal was scored in the third by the Stingrays and the Road Warriors lost 3-2. Marc-Olivier Vallerand and J.M. Rizk scored for Greenville. Brandon Hynes collected two assists in the game to bring his rookie season and team-leading point total to 11.
Week Ahead
The Road Warriors play a two-game set against the Orlando Solar Bears on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Tuesday's game begins at 7 p.m. Thursday's faceoff is slated for 6 p.m. All the games can be viewed courtesy of America One or by clicking the Listen Live link on the Road Warriors homepage.
