DULUTH, Ga. - Playing three road games, including a multiple overnight stay in North Charleston, the Gladiators picked up one win in four very close games last week. In themiddle of the week, the Gladiators picked up forward Elgin Pearce and had Coyotes prospect Louis Domingue return in net from the AHL. Gwinnett is currently in the middle of a five-game home stand, with three of those games coming thisupcoming Thanksgiving week.

Scouting the Opponent:

- FormerGladiators head coach Jeff Pyle has led a resurgent Evansville squad towards the top of the North Division with an 8-3-0-3 record a fifth of the way through the season. Evansville was in first before dropping games to Toledo and Fort Wayne over the weekend, allowing Cincinnati to hop over by a point. Evansville finished last in the North last season, with a 25-40-3-4 record.

- Matt Schepke leads the way for the IceMen with 6 goals and 8 assists, playing in all 14 of Evansville's games so far. Schepke is in sixth place in the East in terms of goals scored and 13th in points. The Warren, Michigan native has registered a point in eight of the last nine games, and has a point in 10 of the 14 games he's played in this season.

- Mike Clemente has carried the load in net for Evansville, playing in all but three of their games so far. Clemente is third in the league, and second in the conference, with an 8-1-0-2 record, and sits at 20th in the league with a 2.78 goals against average, and 17th in the East with a .889 save percentage.

Looking Back:

Sunday, November 17th: Gwinnett 1, @ South Carolina 2 - L

Maxime Legault put the Gladiators ahead in the first period, but South Carolina prevailed in a defensive battle. Former Gladiator Chad Painchaud scored what would prove to be the game-winner for South Carolina in the second period, and former Gwinnett goaltender Jeff Jakaitis made 26 saves for the Rays. Gladiators goalie Peter Delmas took the loss making 27 stops.

Tuesday, November 19th: Gwinnett 6, @ South Carolina 4 - W

Trailing 4-3 in the third period, the Gladiators rallied for three unanswered goals to knock off the Stingrays on Tuesday night. Justin Weller tied the game at 4-4 at the 13:31 mark, beating Rays goaltender Brooks Ostergard. Mike Embach then put Gwinnett ahead for good when Ostergard handled the puck behind his net, andpassed it straight to Embach in the far circle. The Gladiators forward spunaround, and slapped a backhander into the vacant net to give Gwinnett its fourth one-goal lead of the night. Evan Bloodoff potted an empty-netter in the final minute.

Friday, November 22nd: Gwinnett 1, @ Greenville 2 - L

Playing in the ECHL for the first time in nearly a month, Louis Domingue was besieged for 45 shots on net from the Road Warriors and stopped all but two. The lone Gladiators goal came in the third period when Kurtis Bartliff deflected a Marshall Everson pass straight up in the air, and swung his stick at it, batting it past Jeff Malcolm's glove at 5:40 in the third. Beyond that, Malcolm was sterling for Greenville, making 31 saves on 32 shots.

Saturday, November 23rd: Greenville 3, @ Gwinnett 0 - L

Sean Berkstresser scored twice, and Connor Knapp made 31 saves. Peter Delmas made 33 saves in a losing cause for the Gladiators, while Knapp denied Gwinnett time and time again for the Road Warrior's first shutout of the season. Both teams went 0-for-6 on the man advantage.

Glads Notes:

Gobble Gobble: The Gladiators will play their ninth annual Thanksgiving game this week against Evansville. Gwinnett is 4-3-0-2 all-time on Turkey Day, beating the Orlando Solar Bears last season on the holiday by a 1-0 final.

Killer PK: Over their last nine games, the Gladiators have held the opposition to 1-for-30 on the power play. On the season Gwinnett ranks 8th in the ECHL, killing off 87.5% of opposing power plays.

No Rest for the Weary: The South Division continues to be one of the best in the ECHL. All 17 of the Gladiators games have come against a division foe, with Gwinnett's opponents as of Monday sporting a combined record of 39-20-3-5.

Milestones: Forward Joey Haddad is two games away from 100 as a Gladiator ... Goaltender Peter Delmas is one game away from 100 in the ECHL.

Everybody Do Your Share: Of the 24 skaters that played in the first 17 games, 22 have at least a point for the Gladiators. Brenden Walker, Jonathan Narbonne, Josh Currie, Kurtis Bartliff, Philippe Halley, Devon Krogh, and Marshall Everson have scored their first professional goals so far this season, and 14 different Gladiators have scored at least one goal thisseason.

Snippets: The Gladiators are 5-2 when scoring three or more goals, and 0-10 when scoring two or fewer ... Gwinnett is 4-2 when scoring a power play goal, but 1-6 when allowing one ... The Gladiators are 4-0 Monday through Thursday this season, but 1-12 Friday through Sunday.
