
Stingrays Game Preview: the Stanley Cup Visits Today as Stingrays Faceoff against Fort Wayne

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays host the Fort Wayne Komets on Stanley Cup Night tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tonight is second and final regular-season meeting between the two teams this season.
Hockey's most famous and prized trophy, the Stanley Cup, visits the Stingrays! Doors to the Coliseum open at 3:00 p.m. for Stingrays season ticket holders and 4:00 p.m. for the public. All fans MUST have a ticket to Saturday's game to view the Cup.
Series at a Glance:
The two teams collided for the first time this season last night at the Coliseum, with the Komets prevailing 7-4. Forwards Dale Mitchell (one goal, one assist) Scott Campbell (one goal, one assist) and Peter Boyd (two assists) each recorded multi-point games and rookie Stephan Vigier added his first professional goal in his debut.
Campbell and Lavin Return to Stingrays:
Campbell and defenseman Joe Lavin were reassigned to the Stingrays from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins, prior to last night's faceoff. Campbell has 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 32 games with the Stingrays and added three points (two goals, one assist) in 23 contests for Providence this season. Lavin skated in his sixth game as a Stingray last night and holds two assists this season. With Providence, the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, native pitched in one assist in four games.
60 Points:
With the two assists last night, Boyd becomes the first Stingray to reach the 60-point mark in a single season since 2009-10. He is currently tied for seventh in the ECHL scoring race (22 goals, 38 assists).

The Stingrays kickoff a five-game road trip tomorrow, Sunday, March 30 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 3:00 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and celebrate Fan Appreciation Night and The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night on Friday, April 11 against the Elmira Jackals at the Coliseum.
