Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

ESTERO, Florida - A.J. Jenks' goal in the first period turned out to be the game winner as the Florida Everblades (33-26-3-4) defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones (37-22-2-4) by a 3-0 final score in front of 6,959 at Germain Arena on Saturday night. It was just the third time this season that Cincinnati has been held without a lamplighter.

The Everblades jumped out 1-0 just 1:56 into the game when A.J. Jenks swatted a loose puck past Rob Madore (L, 22 saves, 17-12-0) after a heavy bounce off the glass landed to the right of the net. Then, after a post-whistle skirmish, Florida cashed in on a power play goal by Philip-Michael Devos at 9:15 to give the home team a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.

Florida made it 3-0 at 3:19 of the middle stanza when Tyson Gimblett lit the lamp for the first time this season after catching a hard pass from the right wing wall. At the other end of the ice, Everblades goalie Mac Carruth (W, 20 saves, 10-19-0) stopped all eight shots he faced in the second period to keep the cushion at three through 40 minutes.

At 14:31 of the third period, Florida sealed the win as Jordan Henry blasted a slap shot into the net from just inside the blue line. In the waning minutes of the tilt, Carruth remained unbeaten to seal his second shutout of the year.
