F Mickey Lang took over in the middle frame, scoring less than 1:30 into the period on a pass from F Mike Ullrich and following it up with a power play goal at 13:00 to give the Solar Bears a 4-1 lead. Lang completed the hat trick with a second power play goal before the end of the frame as Orlando led 5-1 after two.
