
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Battle Royals, Trade Hunwick and Add Beauregard

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Reading Royals tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Sovereign Center in Reading, PA. Catch all the action live at StingraysHockey.com. Tonight is the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams this season. The Stingrays also announced today that the team traded goaltender Shawn Hunwick to the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations and signed forward Alexandre Beauregard . In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Beauregard, 21, skated in 32 games with Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season scoring five goals and nine assists for 14 points. In six seasons in the QMJHL, the St. Jerome, Quebec, native also appeared with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Saint John Sea Dogs totaling 67 points (28 goals, 39 assists) in 210 contests and helped the Sea Dogs capture the QMJHL Championship and Memorial Cup Championship in 2011.
Hunwick dressed in nine games with the Stingrays recording a 4-4-0 record, a 2.92 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.
The Stingrays continue a three-game road trip Friday, November 23 against the Elmira Jackals at 7:05 p.m. at First Arena in Elmira, NY and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, November 30 against the Royals at 7:05 p.m. for Country Night .
