WET WEDNESDAY / MOVEMBER NIGHT
TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight the Cyclones will look to wet their Thanksgiving appetites with a little fish as they host the Toledo Walleye for the first time this year. Cincinnati has played very evenly with their I-75 rivals over the years; since 2006, the Clones own a 26-26-2-1 record against the Walleye with a 13-11-1-1 mark at U.S. Bank Arena. In the first meeting of the year between the two clubs, Toledo squeaked out a 3-2 overtime win. on October 19 at Huntington Center.
TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: Wet Wednesday / Largest Bar Night of the Year Pre-Party - Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 PBR and Miller High Life all night long as we kick off the largest bar night of the year!!
SCOUTING THE WALLEYE: Winners of two straight games, Nick Vitucci's club has surged into second place in the North Division standings and sits just one point back of the Cyclones - although they have played two additional games. Forward Willie Coetzee leads the Walleye in scoring with 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) in 15 games. Rookie Luke Glendening ranks fourth on the team and tied for seventh among ECHL first-year players in points (10). Goaltender Kent Simpson has shouldered the bulk of the load between the pipes this season, appearing in eight games while amassing a 3-4-0-1 record. While his record is below 500, he has earned a 2.36 goals-against average - which is seventh-best in the ECHL and third-lowest among rookie backstops.
The Rule of Threes: Cincinnati has been nearly perfect when holding its opponent to three goals or less in a game. In such situations this year, they are 6-0-2.
Goin' Streakin': Cyclones rookie David Pacan has been one of the team's most consistent players at both ends of the ice. Cincinnati's team leader in points is currently enjoying a six-game home assist streak. He ranks fifth among ECHL first-year players with 11 points (2g, 9a).
Still Keepin' It Close: Jarrod Skalde's team still remains toward the top of the ECHL in close games. 10 of their 13 games so far have been decided by a single goal. More surprisingly, they are the only team in the league who has had every game decided by two goals or less.
