North Charleston, S.C. - Forwards Branden Gracel and Lucas Van Natter each scored two goals and forward Patrick Gaul added two assists as the South Carolina Stingrays (2-0-0-0) wrapped up the preseason with a 4-3 win over the Greenville Road Warriors (0-1-0-0) at the Carolina Ice Palace Saturday night.

The Stingrays opened the scoring 6:29 into the contest when Gracel slipped a shot past Road Warriors netminder Mackenzie Skapski (L, 24 saves on 28 shots) at the right-wing circle. Defenseman Michal Cajkovsky picked up the lone assist. Less than a minute later, Van Natter gave the Stingrays a 2-0 advantage batting in a loose puck in front of Skapski at 7:28. Defenseman Marcus Perrier and Gaul earned assists.

Seconds into the middle stanza, Gracel gave the Stingrays a three-goal lead with help from forward Wayne Simpson at 19:49. Not to be outdone, Van Natter recorded his second goal of the game at 5:07 from forwards Gaul and Louis Belisle.

The Road Warriors jumped on the scoreboard 3:54 into the third period as forward Brandon Hynes lifted a shot over the glove of Stingrays netminder David LeNeveu (W, 18 saves on 21 shots) off the left-wing circle. Moments later Road Warriors forward Sebastian Geoffrion made it 4-2 on the power play with a drive at 7:19. Late in the game and with Skapski on the bench for an extra skater, the Road Warriors pulled within one with 55 seconds left thanks to Hynes, but could not find the tying marker.

The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-2 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 1-for-3.
