
Grizzlies Finish Preseason 2-0 with 4-3 Shootout Win

Logan, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at Eccles Ice Center to finish the preseason 2-0.
Each team traded power-play goals in the first period with Idaho scoring 3:11 into the game before Channing Boe tied the contest with a blast with 3:09 left in the first period. Michael Pelech and T.J. Syner earned assists.
Again, early in the second, Idaho scored quick with a score 37 seconds into the frame. Utah answered 35 seconds later as Camden Wojtala picked up a turnover in front of the Idaho net and rolled it home. 3:31 later at 4:43 of the second, Connor Hardowa crashed the net on a rebound and scored following the expiration of a power-play. Michael Colavecchia and Barry Almeida picked up assists.
Idaho tied the contest with a power-play goal in the third period sending the game to overtime.
In the overtime, the two teams combined for nine shots and Utah clanged two posts.
Camden Wojtala and Dalton Speelman scored for the Grizzlies in the shootout as goaltender Ryan Faragher turned away all four Idaho looks.
Ducks prospect Ryan Faragher stopped 31 of 34 through overtime for the win.
Utah went 8-10 on the penalty-kill and one for six on the power-play.
Utah opens the season Friday, October 17 at Maverik Center against Idaho. Tickets can be purchased at the arena box office or www.utahgrizzlies.com.
