BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads blanked the Cincinnati Cyclones 3-0 in their first-ever matchup before 4,002 at the Bank of America Centre. The game marked the first East Coast team the Steelheads have faced since joining the ECHL. Idaho goaltender Dan Ellis was perfect between the pipes, recording his first shutout of the season and improving his record to 3-4-0. David Cornacchia scored the lone goal of the first frame, and his first of the year at the eight-minute mark when he got one past Cyclones goaltender Tyler Masters. Ben Keup and Warren Peters each assisted on the tally.

Idaho pulled ahead 3-0 with two even-strength goals in the second period, just 45 seconds apart. Jeff Bateman's shot bounced off of a Clone and onto Darrell Hay's stick. Hay's slapshot beat a screened Masters. Then Warren Peters won the face off, got it back to Regan Darby who one-timed it from outside the circle to score Idaho's third and final goal at 5:40.

Idaho improves to 6-5 (12 pts); while Cincinnati records a 5-5-0 (10 pts) record.

The two teams meet again Saturday at the Bank of America Centre to finish out the two-game set. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
