Gladiators Extend Win Streak to Five

Rick Emmett tallied a power play goal with 1:30 left in the third period as the Gladiators overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat the Florence Pride 3-2 at the Florence Civic Center Friday night.

Florence jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Victor Gervais punched a centering pass behind Gladiators net minder Adam Munro. Mike Souza and Ryan Knox add the assists on the power play goal at the 5:18 mark of the opening period.

Nicholas Corbeil extended the Florence lead to two goals as he chipped in the second Florence power play goal of the evening. Shaun Sutter and Allan Sirois added the assists on the goal at the 8:55 mark of the period.

Chris Durno cut the Florence lead back to one goal as he picked up a loose puck in the slot and ripped a shot past Dan Lombard with 6:53 remaining in the opening period. Steve Slonina added an assist on the goal.

Chris Goodjohn added his third goal of the season on the power play at the 10:39 mark of the second period of play to tie the contest at 2-2. Mike Vigilante and Troy Milam added the assists as they set up Goodjohn for the power play goal.

Late in the third period, Rick Emmett gave the Gladiators a 3-2 lead as he stuffed the puck past an outstretched Lombard with 1:30 left in the contest. Cam Brown and Kevin Doell added the assists on the power play goal.

Adam Munro made 26 saves in the win for the Gladiators and improves to 3-1-1 on the season with the win.
