
Royals Assigned Two Forwards and Defenseman

PEORIA, IL -- The Manchester Monarchs, AHL affiliate of the Reading Royals, have assigned right wing Leon Hayward to the Royals. In addition, the Hershey Bears have assigned forward David Masse and defenseman Jeff Finger to Reading. Hayward appeared in two games with the Royals to open the season. His only point was a goal scored in Trenton on October 17 in which the Royals won, 6-1. The Seattle Washington native appeared in four games with the Monarchs registering one assist. Hayward is expected to join the team today for the their morning skate in Peoria. ECHL rookie leading scorer David Masse and Jeff Finger will rejoin the Royals after one game stints with the Hershey Bears. Masse drove to Hershey Wednesday morning and appeared in the Bears match up with the St. John's Maple Leafs. He immediately drove back to Reading after the game and met up with the Royals team bus as it headed to Peoria, Illinois. Defenseman Jeff Finger was also summoned by Hershey on Wednesday, but was a healthy scratch for the Bears on Wednesday. Finger is expected to join the Royals this afternoon in Peoria. Masse and Finger are expected to be in uniform tonight against the Rivermen. The Royals have placed defenseman Aaron Gionet on the 7-day injured reserve list. The Royals face the Peoria Rivermen for a pair of games tonight and Saturday. Game Time Changes Reading's game against Peoria this evening is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. central time. Royals fans can enjoy the game on ESPN Radio, 1240AM and via the Royals website at www.royalshockey.com beginning at 7:40 p.m. eastern time with the drop of the puck following at 8:00 p.m. Saturday's game time is set for 6:00 p.m. central time. The time was changed to accommodate post game festivities that the Rivermen organization is holding for their fans. Local broadcast time will be at the usual time in Reading beginning at 6:40 p.m. with the drop of the puck at 7:00 p.m. eastern time.
