Brampton Steelheads News Release
First Period
The Steelheads were looking to end their two-game skid as they hosted the Barrie Colts. It was an energetic first twenty minutes for the Steelheads.
After sustaining the pressure in their attacking zone in the opening minutes, James Hardie scored on the power play, only for it to be called back due to offside. However, the Steelheads finally rewarded themselves on the same power play at the 4:12 mark, courtesy of leading scorer James Hardie's 7th goal of the season. Ty Collins and Ole Bjorgvik-Holm got credit with the assist.
Steelheads continued to generate scoring opportunities in their attacking zone. Still, they were unable to muster past the Colts rookie netminder Matteo Lalama. Steelheads starting netminder Joe Ranger had a quiet first period but managed to hold the fort with big saves, including a nice pad stop on Colts' Nathan Allensen early in the frame.

The Steelheads offence continued to put pressure on the Barrie crease in the period with quality chances. Still, they couldn't get the puck past Colts' Lalama.

The Colts answered back with a powerplay goal at the 8:37 mark as Hunter Haight shot through the Steelheads screen and past Ranger to cut the Mississauga lead to 2-1. Then 90 seconds later, the Colts even the score with the Beau Jelsma one-timer past Ranger.
In the extra frame, the Colts completed their comeback, courtesy of a game-winner on the 4-on-3 powerplay from Brandt Clarke at 2:16 into the extra frame.
