October 30, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kingston Frontenacs News Release

The Ottawa 67's played comeback escaping Kingston with a 3-2 overtime win on a two-goal performance by Vsevolod Gaidamak on Friday night. Maddox Callens scored for the second straight game, while Jordan Frasca scored and Matthew Soto assisted extending three-game point streaks in front of 3,177 fans at Leon's Centre on Friday night.

The teams played a tight-checking majority of the first period with Kingston heading to first intermission up 2-0 on a pair of powerplay goals by Frasca (4G) and Callens (3G).

Despite a possession time advantage to start the second, the Frontenacs could not mange many shots through an Ottawa defensive-zone system registering one shot through 12 minutes of play on the Ottawa net.

Kingston made a push after a late timeout by head coach Luca Caputi that saw six straight shots fired on the Ottawa net. After Cranley continued to hold his team in, Gaidamak broke through, scoring his first of the game 1:13 into the middle frame.

After a late timeout by Ottawa in the third, the 67's tied the game on a late goal at 18:12 by OHL leading scorer Jack Beck (9G) sending the teams to extra-time.

Ottawa completed the comeback as Gaidamak (5G) would pot his second of the night and game-winner 1:29 into extra-time for the only Ottawa lead in the game.

Second-star Will Cranley made 34 saves keeping the Frontenacs at bay including multiple tough stops in the third to help the 67's win their third in a row.

With the loss, the Frontenacs drop to 4-2-1-0. The nine points places them three points back of the East Division leaders.
