67's Split Home-And-Home with Kingston

October 30, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

After two consecutive comeback victories, the Ottawa 67's were on the wrong end of that equation, today.

Leading the Kingston Frontenacs 3-1, Ottawa saw their lead slip away late in the game, and their three-game winning streak came to an end by a final score of 4-3. The 67's were powered by goals from Dylan Robinson, Cam Tolnai, and Teddy Sawyer.

The 67's were first on the board, 9:38 in. Ranvir Gill-Shane found Robinson flying into the Kingston zone off the bench, and Robinson uncorked a bullet of a shot, top shelf to open the scoring.

After killing a penalty not long after, Tolnai came flying out of the box on a breakaway, but was hauled down from behind. Tolnai was awarded a penalty shot, and he made no mistake by beating Aidan Spooner five-hole, giving the 67's a 2-0 lead.

Despite having to kill an onslaught of penalties, Ottawa carried their lead into the second, but it didn't take long for Kingston to cut into it. Martin Chromiak let go a shot on the powerplay that found the back of the net, making it a 2-1 game.

The Barber Poles restored their two-goal lead just past the midway point, when Teddy Sawyer fired his first of the year past Spooner, but things went downhill from there. In a span of two minutes, Chromiak and Shane Wright both scored, bringing the score to 3-3.

Despite strong play by the 67's in the third, Chromiak landed the hat trick with a lacrosse goal, and gave the Frontenacs a 4-3 victory.

Game Notes:

Ranvir Gill-Shane is now on a three-game point streak,

Vsevolod Gaidamak extended his point streak to six games.

Cam Tolnai has five goals in his last six games.

Dylan Robinson has points in three straight games.

Up Next: The 67's face off against the Peterborough Petes Friday, November 5, at 7:00pm EDT from The Arena at TD Place.
