Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads fell 3-2 to the Fresno Falcons Friday night in their final game this season at the Save Mart Center.

Idaho had been trailing 3-0 midway through the second period on an even-strength goal by Fresno's Thierry Douville and two power play goals by Curtis Sheptak and Sean Sutter. However, Idaho's Dan Vandermeer scored on the power play to get the Steelheads back in the game at 10:09 of the second and Scott Burt added another at 6:28 of the third. Despite a six-on-three and many good chances late in the game, the two goals were all Idaho could muster.

Idaho is 2-2-0 against the Falcons in Fresno this season. The Steelheads visited Fresno in late October for a three-game series. Fresno will visit Idaho's Bank of America Centre only once this season for a three-game series, but it won't be until late March (24th-26th).

The Steelheads now travel to play the West Division's first-place Bakersfield Condors for two games on Saturday, December 18th and Monday, December 20th.
