Dayton Bombers News Release

Johnstown, PA – The Dayton Bombers suffered a 3-1 loss to the Johnstown Chiefs in front of 2,132 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena Saturday night. The Bombers are now winless in their last 6 games with 7 days until their next game.

The Chiefs opened the scoring when Joe Tallari took a pass across the crease from Dennis Packard and beat MIKE AYERS at 10:51 of the first period to give Johnstown a 1-0 lead. That goal also solicited a good number of Teddy Bears and stuffed animals for the Chief's Annual Holiday Teddy Bear Toss. The Bombers tied the game, 1-1, after a strong effort from SCOTT CAMERON resulted in his third goal of the season at 17:34.

Johnstown enjoyed their first two goal lead of the night as second period goals from Jean Desrochers (0:59) and Chad Cavanagh (15:05) made it 3-1.

There was no scoring in period three, but seven players were given various penalties and game misconducts for an altercation at 9:40. Steve Dix, Jim Leger, Ben Knopp and Matt Herneisen were ejected for Dayton, while David Bowman, Jonathan Tremblay and Mike James were tossed for Johnstown.

The Bombers are off until Sunday, December 26th when they host the Peoria Rivermen at the Nutter Center at 2:00 PM. Audio coverage will be provided at daytonbombers.com.

The Dayton Bombers are pleased to be a part of the Dayton Public Schools "Book Barrel" campaign. Fans that bring a new or gently used book to a Bombers home game in December will receive $2.00 off the price of an adult ticket. Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Bombers' office at 937-775-4747.
