-SPIKES BACK HOME TO FACE MUCKDOGS: Tonight, the State College Spikes continue their 10th Season as they face the Batavia Muckdogs for the second ime this season. The matchup is the middle game of a three-game series between the two teams at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, and is part of a slate of 12 meetings between the two clubs during the 2015 season. State College is 46-45 against Batavia since 2006, with a 25-22 mark against the Muckdogs in games played at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes are now 13-8 over their last 21 games and 6-4 over their last 10 games after starting the season 1-5.

-LAST GAME: Juan Perez matched the Spikes' single-game strikeout record with 10 whiffs on the night, while Cole Lankford tied the club's single-game doubles records as State College shut out the Batavia Muckdogs for an 8-0 win on Saturday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Perez went a season-long seven innings, allowing just two hits and two walks in a dominant performance. The right-hander matched the franchise record set by Will Anderson on June 29 of last year against Williamsport and tied by Fernando Baez in a playoff game against Hudson Valley on September 5, 2014. The Spikes' strong pitching effort was bolstered by an equally powerful offensive display led by Lankford's trio of two-base hits. The Texas A&M product also collected five runs batted in, one shy of the team record. Orlando Olivera also added some punch to the State College attack, smashing his first home run for the club.

-BECK HITS THE HILL FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Landon Beck gets the ball for State College tonight in his sixth appearance of the 2015 NYPL season. Beck previously racked up the most strikeouts for a Spikes pitcher in a single-game this year, notching eight on July 5 at Auburn. Last time out, the Anderson (SC) University product went 6 1/3 innings in a loss despite making a quality start against Tri-City, allowing three runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out four.

-MUCKDOGS GO WITH POTEET ON MOUND: Right-hander Cody Poteet gets the start for Batavia in his fifth professional appearance. The Marlins' 2015 fourth-round draft choice out of UCLA, Poteet allowed two runs on five hits, including a home run, and one walk over 2 2/3 innnings in a no-decision at Hudson Valley in his last outing. The righty from Bonita, CA has not gone longer than three innings in one appearanc this season, and has limited lefties to a .158 batting average this season. Poteet has made all but one appearance on the road this season.

-GRAYSON DELIVERING BIG NUMBERS: Casey Grayson saw both his 23-game on-base streak and 14-game hitting streak come to a close, but is still at or near the top of several leaderboards in the New York-Penn League. The University of Houston product is tops in the NYPL in batting average with a .389 mark, and his .467 on-base percentage is tops in the league. Grayson also occupies spots in the top five in hits (1st, 35), RBI (3rd, 21) and runs scored (T-2nd, 19)

-HELLO AGAIN: Spikes fans will see a pair of familiar faces for the Muckdogs in this series, as former coach Steven Suarez and former pitcher Ryan Hafner are part of the Batavia roster. Suarez served as a coach for the Spikes from 2008-10 under managers Brad Fischer and Gary Robinson. Hafner spent the 2011 season with the Spikes, posting a 3.15 ERA that was second-best on the team behind Nick Kingham, then made seven appearances with State College in 2012. The right-hander tossed a scoreless eighth inning last night for the Muckdogs.

-SPIKE MARKS: Infielder Champ Rowland joined the Spikes today after starting his pro career with the Rookie-level GCL Cardinals...Catcher Riley Drongesen, who signed with the Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent in 2015 out of Menlo College in California, was called up from Johnson City yesterday
