
Stars to Close Season Series with Storm

Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (19-15-1) will travel to take on the Tri-City Storm (13-10-9) for the eighth meeting between the teams this season. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Viaero Center.
Lincoln is first in the Western Conference with 39 points, looking to snap a five-game losing streak and earn its first win of January. Ludvig Hoff leads the Stars with 32 points.
Tri-City is second in the West with 35 points, having earned a point in each of its last five games. Carson Meyer leads the Storm with 26 points.
The Stars lead the season series with the Storm, 4-3-0, and have outscored the Storm 18-17 this season. Tri-City has won the last three meetings between the teams.

Jan. 14 vs. Sioux City - (3-1 L)
The Stars were unable to overcome a 2-0 deficit at the first intermission as the Musketeers took their second win of the season against the Stars. Grant Jozefek scored a power play goal. Patrik Virtanen made 32 saves.

Scouting Tri-City - The Storm has lost three of its last five games, but have earned a point in each game. Tri-City has more overtime losses (9) than any other team in the league.

Gillespie Returns - Mike Gillespie has rejoined the Stars after playing eight games for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The forward posted 34 points in 59 games for the Stars last season, taking a share of the team lead. He will wear No. 18.

Biag is Back - Stars captain Biagio Lerario returns to the lineup on Jan. 15 against the Tri-City Storm. He'll play for the first time since receiving a six-game suspension for his hit on Nick Swaney of the Waterloo Black Hawks on Dec. 29.
Tough Stretch - The Stars will play three consecutive nights for the second time this season from Jan. 14-17. After that stretch, Lincoln will have played 10 games since returning from Christmas break.
The Hoff - Ludvig Hoff has six assists and one goal in his last eight games. He is sixth in league scoring with 32 points.
Mr. 200 - Patrick Polino played his 200th USHL game on Friday, Jan. 8. Polino played for the Chicago Steel and Green Bay Gamblers prior to coming to Lincoln. The fourth-year forward is committed to play at RPI next season.
Top Prospects - Ludvig Hoff, Grant Jozefek, Christian Evers and Peyton Jones participated in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Omaha, Nebraska on Jan. 12. Chris Hartsburg coached Team West and Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager Corey Courtney joined the support staff.
Lerario Commits - Biagio Lerario committed to play college hockey at Northeastern University on Jan. 7. He'll join teammate Grant Jozefek and three former Stars with the Huskies.
Wild Bunch - The Stars average 18.2 penalty minutes per game, most in the USHL. Biagio Lerario is tied for the fourth-most penalty minutes in the league with 91.

20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.
Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
