
Stars Set for Third Meeting with Black Hawks

Des Moines, Iowa - The Lincoln Stars (25-18-1) travel to take on the Waterloo Black Hawks (19-18-2) on Saturday in Young Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Stars are atop the Western Conference with 51 points. Tanner Laczynski leads the team with 17 goals and 29 assists.
The Black Hawks are fourth in the West with 40 points and have lost three of their last four games. Nick Swaney leads Waterloo with 22 goals and 15 assists.
Lincoln is 1-1-0 against Waterloo this season. The teams will meet for a final time on April 1 in the Ice Box.

Collin Peters recorded a hat trick as the Stars took their first win in four games against the Buccaneers. Tanner Laczynski and Biagio Lerario also had three-point nights. Patrik Virtanen made 29 saves.
Stars Lately - The Stars are first in the Western Conference with 51 points and have won six of their last seven games. Peyton Jones has gone 5-0-0 in his last five starts, posting a 1.20 GAA and .959 save percentage.

Stars vs. Waterloo - The Stars are 1-1-0 against the Black Hawks this season. Both meetings resulted in one-goal games. The teams will meet for a final time on April 1 at the Ice Box.
Trades Made - The Stars acquired Tanner Laczynski and Trevor Hamilton from the Chicago Steel on Feb. 2. In exchange, the Steel received affiliates Tommy Nappier, Adam Karashik and two draft picks. On Feb. 4, the Stars acquired Collin Peters from the Sioux Falls Stampede for Carson Gicewicz and two draft picks.

Mad Max - The Stars added forward Maxim Rasseikin in January. The Russian forward had 13 points in 43 games for Avto Yekaterinburg of the MHL last season.
He logged two games in the Kontinental Hockey League earlier this year.
Stonewall Jones - Peyton Jones has gone 5-0-0 in his last four starts, posting a .959 save percentage and 1.20 GAA. He shares the team lead with four shutouts.
Set Schedule - The Stars will play only Fridays and Saturdays until the end of the regular season. They'll play twice at home in February, three times at home in March and four times in April.
Hat Trick Hero - Collin Peters recorded the Stars third hat trick of the season on Feb. 12 in Des Moines. Adam Brady and Ludvig Hoff have the other two.
NHL CSS Rankings - Peyton Jones, Tanner Laczynski and affiliate Carter Long were listed on the NHL CSS midterm rankings released in mid-January.
Rock the Box - The Stars have the second-best attendance in the USHL, averaging 3,399 fans per game. Sioux Falls leads the league, averaging more than 6,000 fans.
Top Prospects - Ludvig Hoff, Grant Jozefek, Christian Evers, Peyton Jones and Tanner Laczynski participated in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Omaha, Nebraska on Jan. 12. Chris Hartsburg coached Team West and Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager Corey Courtney joined the support staff.

20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.
Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
