Waterloo, Iowa - The Stars grinded out a 2-1 road win against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Saturday in Young Arena.

Stars goalie Peyton Jones was perfect through the first 20 minutes, turning aside 14 shots to leave it 0-0 at the first intermission.

Lincoln opened the scoring at 3:29 of the second when Collin Peters carried the puck up the right wing side and slid a pass to Grant Jozefek who buried his 14th goal of the season.

The Stars took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission.

The teams traded goals in the third period as Ben Newhouse scored at 3:07 of the period before Stars defenseman Trevor Hamilton responded 20 seconds later with his first goal as a Star.

The 2-1 advantage held for the remainder of regulation as the Stars notched their seventh win in eight games.

Jones made 39 saves in his sixth consecutive win.
