
St. John's Maple Leafs Launch Radio Contests

The St. John's Maple Leafs announced today that they have teamed up with 97.5 K-ROCK & 590 VOCM to launch the Maple Leafs Opening Week promotions with two radio contests called "PUCK STARS" and "WHO AM I".
PUCK STARS will run from Monday, October 14th through to Tuesday, October 22nd. Listeners can call into 97.5 K-ROCK during the morning show with Mike Campbell, Chris Battstone and Maggie Gillis and choose from a list of St. John's Maple Leafs goal-calls made available on the team's website (www.sjmapleleafs.ca). Each day listeners will make their goal call LIVE at 8:40AM on 97.5 K-ROCK. The daily winner will receive a Maple Leafs prize pack and a pair of tickets to the home opener against the Manitoba Moose on Tuesday, October 22nd. Maple Leafs play-by-play broadcaster Brian Rogers will join 97.5 K-ROCK on the morning of October 22nd to help select the overall winner who will then join Brian on one of the Maple Leafs home broadcasts and become a guest color commentator.
The WHO AM I contest with Brian O'Connell and Claudette Barnes on VOCM - Good Morning Show will give listeners the opportunity to identify a member of the 2002-03 St. John's Maple Leafs. Listeners will be given three clues pre-recorded by that player, the contestant who correctly identifies the player will receive a Maple Leafs prize pack and also qualifies for a draw for a pair of tickets to the season home opener on October 22nd. The WHO AM I contest will run from Monday, October 14th through to Tuesday, October 22nd.
