The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Binghamton Mets will meet in the finale of a four-game series...The B-Mets sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs in the first inning en route to a 9-1 romp over the Flying Squirrels in game three of the series.
TODAY'S STARTER: Right-hander Ronnie Ray gets the start in the finale of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Allowed three runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings and received a no-decision in his second start of the season 5/22 at Reading...Struck out four and walked none...Three of the four hits he allowed went for extra bases including a pair of home runs...All four hits came when he was trailing in the count (2-0 HR, 2-0 2B, 2-0 1B, 3-2 HR)...Did not allow a home run in his first 11 appearances (19 innings)...Retired the leadoff batter in four of his five innings on the mound...Threw 61 pitches, 40 strikes...Four strike outs were a season high...Longest out of the season...Outing was his longest since 8/23/07 against Visalia when he tossed five innings...Is 0-0 with a 6.48 ERA in his two starts (6R/8.1 IP)...Is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA (4R/12.0 IP) in nine career appearances against the B-Mets, all in relief...Gave up a walk-off home run to Ambiorix Concepcion in the bottom of the 10th inning in his last outing against the B-Mets at NYSEG Stadium 7/30/08.
Right-hander Chris Schwinden gets the nod in the finale of the four-game series for the B-Mets...Making his second start with Binghamton...Earned the win in his Double-A debut 5/22 at New Britain...Allowed just one run on six hits in six innings of work...Struck out five an did not issue a walk...Lone run allowed came on an Erik Lis solo home run...Went 3-0 with a 1.83 ERA in seven appearances including two starts with Advanced-A St. Lucie prior to his promotion...Struck out 23 batters and walked five in 34 1/3 innings of work...Made two starts with St. Lucie in 2009 and went 1-0 with a 3.97 ERA...Allowed five runs on 12 hits in 11 1/3 innings...Spent the majority of 2009 with Low-A Savannah and went 9-6 with a 3.28 ERA in 21 games, including 17 games started...Struck out 88 batters and walked just 15 in 115 1/3 innings...Did allow 126 hits over that span...Went 4-1 with a 2.01 ERA in 14 games, eight starts with SS-A Brooklyn in 2008...Named a New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star...Selected by the New York Mets in the 22nd round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Fresno Pacific University...Enters 2010 rated as having the best control in the New York Mets farm system according to Baseball America.

BURNT KIESCH-NICK: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is 0-for-34 over his last nine games since seeing his five-game hit streak come to an end...He has struck out seven times and has walked once over that span...The 23-year-old seen his average dip from .306 to .239...Kieschnick was 8-for-15 (.533) over his five-game hitting streak with three home runs, nine RBI, and three runs scored.
DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 55 double plays in 46 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.
