Giveaways and Fireworks Galore This Memorial Day Weekend at BCB

CURVE, Pa. - The first-place Altoona Curve return home to Blair County Ballpark this Friday to open a Memorial Day Weekend homestand against the Reading Phillies (AA -Philadelphia Phillies) that features two giveaways and two fireworks shows. Altoona will be home from Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31 and will offer a $2 discount on tickets for active or former military personnel for the four-game series this weekend.

In the series opener on Friday night at 6:30 p.m., the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Camouflage BBQ Apron Giveaway courtesy of Holiday Inn Express. Friday night's game against Reading is also Westmoreland County Community Night.

Saturday night marks another giveaway night in Curve, PA with the first of two commemorative Curve, PA Poster Giveaways. The first 2,000 fans into the gates prior to the 6:30 p.m. game will receive the commemorative poster courtesy of WTAJ. Saturday will also be a special day for kids at Blair County Ballpark as they'll be able to play free in the Weis Playland and the Galliker's Fun Zone all night long thanks to Butler Restoration.

Sunday brings the first of our Sunday Night Fireworks games in 2010 with game time scheduled for 6 p.m. Fans can come down to the field during the pregame and play catch and then enjoy a postgame fireworks show. As always, Sunday is a Galliker's Kids' Club Day at BCB.

The homestand concludes on Monday with a special 6 p.m. start time and a Memorial Day Fireworks Show to follow the game. Monday is also a Mirror Monday presented by the Altoona Mirror. Fans can save money on tickets with a coupon from the front page of the sports section in the Altoona Mirror.

As a special treat, kids can run the bases after every game on this homestand.
