ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid their longest losing streak of the season as they attempt to salvage the final game of a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) at Waterfront Park. The Howlers were one-out away from snapping a seven-game slide last night when Brandon Laird connected on a game-winning, two run home run off Luis Marte. It was the first runs allowed by Marte since April 15. The SeaWolves are now a game under .500 for the first time since May 4 when the club was 12-13. Erie has slipped from first to fourth place in the Western Division in the last eight days. The Howlers are now 7.5 games behind first place Altoona...Trenton continues to be one of the hottest teams in the EL winning seven of its last 10. Trenton is a half game behind first place New Hampshire in the Eastern Division...Erie sends righty Brooks Brown to the mound making his 13th appearance and third start of the season. He was roughed up for seven runs on seven hits in two innings of work in his last start against Altoona. Brown has appeared once against Trenton and tossed a scoreless inning in relief of April 10...RHP Hector Noesi takes the mound for Trenton. Noesi is making his second start for Trenton. In his first start he took a no-decision against Portland going six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts...The SeaWolves are 0-7 at Waterfront Park and the club is 2-12 in Trenton dating back to 2008.

TODAY'S NOTABLES -

- Trenton has won the season series over Erie going 8-2 through the first 10 games. The SeaWolves and Thunder meet 14 times in 2010.

- Defensively, the ‘Wolves have committed 50 errors on the season, the most in the EL. Trenton is the top defensive team in the EL with a .986 team fielding percentage. Trenton has committed just 23 errors, the fewest in the EL.

- The SeaWolves are seventh in the league with a 4.07 team ERA. Trenton is fifth in the league with a 3.87 team ERA.

- The SeaWolves are 10th in the league with a .239 team batting average. Trenton is tied for fourth in the league with a .263 team average.

- Erie has connected on 49 home runs which is the most by team in the league this season.

- The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 50 stolen bases.

- The ‘Wolves are 13-14 on the road.

- The SeaWolves have dropped two consecutive series for the first time since dropping the first two series of the season.

- Michael Bertram has hit safely in 28 of his last 32 games.

- Andy Dirks leads all league outfielders with 11 assists.

- During the eight-game losing streak, Erie has scored 20 runs on 43 hits while striking out 82 times.
