Spellman's Triple-Double Not Enough in Home Loss to Warriors

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (18-24) dropped a 115-112 contest to the Santa Cruz Warriors (21-21) Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.

With the loss the Wolves finish the season series with the Warriors at 2-2.

Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Omari Spellman notched his first NBA G League triple-double, finishing with 18 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and a game-high 12 assists.

The Wolves have now seen a player record a triple-double in each of their last two games.

Barry Brown Jr. continued his impressive play on the offensive end, finishing with a team-high 25 points on 10-of-20 shooting. The former Kansas State standout added four assists and three steals in the loss.

Iowa struggled from beyond the arc in today's contest, shooting just 25.5% (13-51), but outrebounded (53-42) and dished out more assists (29-22) than Santa Cruz.

Jarred Vanderbilt recorded his third consecutive double-double for Iowa, tallying 14 points and 16 rebound while shooting 7-of-12 from the floor.

Former NBA guard Jonathon Simmons led Santa Cruz to victory with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Andrew Harrison added 20 points for the Warriors.

Iowa begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday night against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7:00 p.m. CT.
