Louisville Bats News Release

Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville Sounds' Zach Green homered twice, while five pitchers combined to hold the Louisville Bats (24-36) to four hits en route to a 5-0 shutout win on Wednesday night at First Horizon Park.

Nashville (39-22) broke into the scoring column early, scratching across a pair of runs over the first three frames. Green connected on a solo home run over the left-center wall to lead off the home half of the second before the Sounds returned to the dish in the third, recording a pair of base-hits and coaxing a bases-loaded walk from Louisville starter Riley O'Brien to make it 2-0.

The Sounds continued to add to their lead throughout the evening, as Green belted a two-run homer in the fifth, his second of the night, before adding an insurance run in the seventh to place the game out of reach.

O'Brien was charged with the loss, as he allowed three earned runs on five hits and five walks over 4.2 innings. The right-hander fanned four in his start.

Alfredo Rodriguez contributed his 15th multi-hit outing of the season, while TJ Friedl and Michael Lorenzen each added a base hit. Friedl has now recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 12 games, including seven straight in Nashville.

The Bats and Sounds return to First Horizon Park Thursday night for the third of their six-game set. RHP Bo Takahashi (2-4, 6.04) will take the mound for an 8:05 p.m. first pitch against Nashville's RHP Josh Lindblom (3-0, 1.04).
