
Sound Tigers To Finish Preseason This Weekend

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will finish their 2003 preseason schedule with a pair of games this weekend. The Sound Tigers will visit the Worcester IceCats at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts tomorrow, Friday, October the 3rd, at 7 p.m. and return to Connecticut to host the Manchester Monarchs at the Winter Garden Arena in Ridgefield this Saturday, October the 4th at 4:05 p.m.
Tickets for this Saturday's game can be purchased in-person at the Winter Garden Arena at 111 Prospect Ridge in Ridgefield or on-line at www.wintergardenarena.com. Tickets for this Saturday's game cost $20 each and include an additional ticket for the Sound Tigers' regular-season home opener versus the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday, October 11th at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The Ridgefield Mites will entertain the crowd at the Winter Garden Arena this Saturday with a pair of intermission, mini-hockey games. And, fans are invited to join the Sound Tigers at the Red Lion Belzoni Grill at 619 Danbury Road in Ridgefield after this Saturday's game.
The Sound Tigers opened the preseason by skating to a scoreless tie with Worcester at Bridgeport's Wonderland of Ice last Friday. They also lost 3-0 on the road to the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Northeast Flyers Skate Zone Saturday evening.
The Sound Tigers will open the 2003-04 regular season on the road versus the Hartford Wolf Pack next Friday, October 10th at 7:05 p.m. before returning home to host Philadelphia the following night at 7:05 p.m.
The Sound Tigers are beginning their third season of play and first under the guidance of new Head Coach Greg Cronin.
