Wolf Pack to Hold "Community Service Day" Saturday

Hartford, October 2, 2003 -- The Hartford Wolf Pack will be undertaking a "Community Service Day" this Saturday, October 4th. Selected Wolf Pack players will be conducting no fewer than six different community appearances around Metro Hartford.
Those are as follows:
* Street Hockey Clinic - several players will be assisting with a street hockey clinic at the Winding Trails recreation area, on Winding Trails Drive in Farmington, from 10-11 AM.
* Park Road Parade - a group of players, along with Sonar, the Pack's mascot, will be marching in the Park Road Parade in West Hartford. The parade starts at the intersection of Park Road and Ringold St. at 10:30 AM and continues to South Quaker Lane.
* Special Olympics Bowling Practice - several players will be rubbing shoulders with Special Olympians as they hone their bowling skills at AMF Silver Lanes, 748 Silver Lane in East Hartford, from 10 AM - noon.
* Connecticut Children's Medical Center Visit - selected Wolf Pack players will be spreading cheer and encouragement to inpatients at CCMC (282 Washington St., Hartford) from 2-4 PM.
* Hartford Community Market Autograph Session - a group of players will be signing autographs from 2-4 PM at the Hartford Community Market, put on by "Rediscover Hartford and the Arts" and consisting of local artists and craftspeople displaying their work. This takes place at Riverfront Plaza in Hartford.
* Hartford Junior Wolf Pack Home Opener - selected players, joined by Sonar, will drop the ceremonial first puck and sign autographs at the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack's inaugural home-ice opener. Faceoff is 8:00 PM at Champions Skating Center, 6 Progress Dr. in Cromwell.
The Wolf Pack close out their preseason schedule this weekend with games tomorrow night, Friday, October 3rd in Springfield (7:35 PM faceoff) and Sunday, October 5th at Veterans Memorial Skating Rink in West Hartford vs. Worcester (4:00). The Wolf Pack open their 2003-04 regular season Friday, October 10th at the Hartford Civic Center vs. Bridgeport (7:05 PM faceoff).
