Sound Tigers Release Johnson

December 13, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Bridgeport Sound Tigers News Release

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have released forward Gregg Johnson from his contract, allowing him to play in Europe for SaiPa Lappeenranta of the Finish Elite League.

"Gregg has been a terrific player for the Sound Tigers the past two seasons," Sound Tigers president Howard Saffan said. "We appreciate what Gregg brought to our team and wish him the best of luck with SaiPa."

Johnson has played in 12 games this season for the Sound Tigers totaling a goal and an assist for two points. This was Johnson's second season with the Sound Tigers after joining the team midway through last year, finishing the season with six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 35 games.
