TIGERS VS. BRUINS

Saturday's game will mark the fourth of 12 meetings between the Sound Tigers and Bruins this season, and the second of six in the Park City. Providence has earned points in all three contests thus far, but Bridgeport skated to a 4-3 overtime victory in their last tilt at Webster Bank Arena three weeks ago (Oct. 20). Despite trailing by one after 40 minutes, the Sound Tigers rallied with two goals in the third period before Mike Sislo converted the OT winner at 0:32 that night.

VIEW FROM PROVIDENCE

The Bruins snapped a two-game slide last night with a 2-1 overtime win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at home. Martin Bakos scored his second goal of the year midway through the first period, while Ryan Fitzgerald notched the game-winner at 3:43 of the extra frame. Dan Vladar earned the win in net with 27 saves and now ranks 14th in the AHL with a 2.52 goals-against-average. Despite the victory, Providence is still in the basement of the Eastern Conference with nine points in 12 games. It's only two regulation wins this season have come against Bridgeport. Colby Cave paces the club offensively with 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 11 games.

TIGERS VS. CHECKERS

Sunday's 3 p.m. matinee will feature the first of eight matchups between the Sound Tigers and Checkers this season, and the first of four at Webster Bank Arena. Bridgeport went 3-5-0-0 against Charlotte last year, but captured a 2-2-0-0 record on home ice. The Checkers defeated the Sound Tigers in the final game of the 2017-18 regular season with a 4-1 victory in Bridgeport.

VIEW FROM CHARLOTTE

The first-place Charlotte Checkers have won 10 of their first 12 games and lead the AHL with an .833 winning percentage entering Saturday's action. However, the Checkers saw a five-game win streak come to an end on Friday night in a 3-2 loss to the Binghamton Devils in New York. Charlotte is led by second-year forward Janne Kuokkanen with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 12 games, while Alex Nedeljkovic, who had a breakout season in 2017-18, is 13th in the League with a 2.51 goals-against-average. The Checkers continue a six-game road trip this weekend, including Sunday's stop in Bridgeport.

DAL COLLE'S DOMINATION

Michael Dal Colle has become a key threat every time he steps onto the ice. The Islanders' fifth-overall pick in 2014 has scored in three straight games (career high) and continues to lead the Sound Tigers with seven goals and 14 points in 11 games, despite missing two contests in October due to injury. In addition, Dal Colle paces Bridgeport with five multi-point games and is tied for eighth in the AHL in both goals and points. He has six goals and three assists (nine points) in his last seven outings.

HO-SANG'S HEROICS

Josh Ho-Sang has one goal and nine assists in his last four contests, and is one of four players entering the weekend on a four-game point streak (with Devon Toews, Travis St. Denis and Steve Bernier). Even better, Ho-Sang is tied for first among all AHL players in assists (13) and became just the eighth player in team history to register four assists in a single game when he did so last Sunday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (first time since Tony Romano on Mar. 27, 2012).

MILESTONE WATCH

Already the AHL's active leading scorer, Chris Bourque has a chance to cross a major milestone tonight. He has 699 points in 733 AHL games and will become just the 24th player in League history to hit #700 with his next tally. The three-time Calder Cup Champion and six-time All-Star scored his 239th career goal on Wednesday, which tied Geordie Robertson (1979-89) for 49th place on the AHL's all-time list. Bob Solinger (48th, 241 goals) and Alex Giroux (23rd, 704 points) are the next ones he'll catch, respectively.

QUICK HITS

Brent Thompson is four wins away from his 200th as Bridgeport's head coach... The Sound Tigers have netted a power-play goal in each of their last four games, going 9-for-27 during that span (29.4%)...
