CEDAR PARK, TX - Erik Condra tallied a hat trick and Justin Dowling posted a four-point game to power the Texas Stars (5-5-2) to an 8-1 win over the San Antonio Rampage (3-11-0) on Saturday night at the HEB Center at Cedar Park, snapping a four-game losing streak for the Stars.

Condra, a veteran of 366 NHL games, opened the scoring 51 seconds into the first period and added two more goals in the third. He added an assist on a second period goal by Dowling to finish the game with four points.

Jakub Jerabek scored the lone goal for the Rampage, his second in the last three games. Jordan Nolan fed Jerabek at the top of the left circle for a wrist shot off the post and in at 2:33 of the second period for his second goal of the season, reducing the Stars lead to 4-1. With the assist, Nolan recorded his 100th professional point.

The Stars opened the scoring when Condra redirected a Gavin Bayreuther point shot past Ville Husso for his third goal of the season. Texas extended the lead with Colton Hargrove's third of the year, a shot from the bottom of the right circle at 5:56 to make it 2-0.

Joel L'Esperance increased the lead on a power play wrist shot from the left circle at 14:14, his sixth goal of the year. Just 1:42 later, a Bayreuther point shot beat Husso for another power play goal, to make it 4-0 at the end of the first period. It was Bayreuther's second goal of the season, in his first game back from a seven-game absence due to an upper-body injury.

Husso was relieved after the first period by Jordan Binnington, stopping nine of 13 shots he faced. Binnington would stop 12 of 16 shots in 40 minutes of work.

After Jerabek had brought San Antonio within three goals, Dowling answered back at 3:43 of the second period with a redirection of a John Nyberg shot, Dowling's third of the season making it 5-1.

Texas scored three more goals in the third period. Condra netted his second of the game at 3:46 on a drive from the right wing, firing a shot off the far post and in for a 6-1 Stars lead. Condra scored again at 13:02 in close on the power play. At 14:31, Colin Markison capped the scoring with a wrap-around goal for his first tally of the season.

The eight goals surrendered by the Rampage were their highest total of the season. The Texas power play finished the game 3-for-5.

Saturday night was the first of 14 meetings this season between San Antonio and Texas.

The Rampage and Stars face off again on Sunday afternoon at the AT&T Center as the Rampage open a five-game homestand. Puck-drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT, with the game available on The Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
