
Sound Tigers Head West For Only Time This Season

WEST VALLEY CITY, UT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, embark on their only Western Conference road trip of the regular season this weekend. The Sound Tigers will visit the Utah Grizzlies tonight and tomorrow. Both games will face-off at 9:05 p.m. eastern time and will be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM and at www.soundtigers.com beginning at 8:45 p.m.
Center Blaine Down, who has missed the entire season while recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, and Defenseman Alain Nasreddine, who has missed the entire season while bothered by a back injury that has also lead to numbness and discomfort in his leg, both made the trip to Utah with the team. Although, it has not been decided if either player will skate in this weekend's games.
While the team is on the road in Utah, the organization will stay busy at home as the Team Mascot Storm will help kick off the American Heart Association's "Great American Heart Walk" at Sherwood Island in Westport at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
This weekend's games in Utah will be the second and third of five straight on the road for the Sound Tigers who will visit the Providence Bruins next Saturday, November 8th and the Philadelphia Phantoms next Sunday, November 9th. The Sound Tigers' next home game at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard will be on Veterans' Day, Tuesday, November 11th, when they host the Norfolk Admirals at 4:05 p.m.
The Sound Tigers will present "Military Appreciation Day" on Tuesday, November 11th with free tickets for all military personnel who wear their uniform or show proper identification at the Harbor Yard box office on the day of the game, as well as special ticket prices for friends and family.
November 11th will also be "Everybody is a Kid Day" at Harbor Yard with an advance-purchase price of $12.50 for tickets in selected sections for fans who order through the Sound Tigers office by Monday, November 10th. Additional information is available by calling 203-334-GOAL.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
