PNC to Introduce Penguins Visa Check Card

SCRANTON, Pa., October 31, 2003-The PNC Financial Services Group (NYSE: PNC) announced today that it has introduced the PNC Bank Penguins Check Card, a PNC Bank Visa Check Card embellished with a limited-edition Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins logo commemorating the team's fifth season.

In addition to the PNC Bank Visa Check Card, customers can choose Penguins logo checks and a free matching checkbook cover with their next order of checks. The PNC Bank Penguins Visa Check Card and team logo checks are offered exclusively to new and current PNC Bank checking account customers beginning November 5.

The PNC Bank Penguins Visa Check Card is linked to a PNC Bank checking account and can be used instead of cash or checks to make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted, but it is not a credit card. PNC Bank Penguins Check Card customers also can use their card to access their checking accounts through any ATM that accepts PNC cards.

To promote these exclusive offers, PNC Bank will be welcoming the public to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins player appearances and autograph sessions at the following PNC Bank offices: November 4-Viewmont Mall; November 5-Mount Pocono; November 12-Dallas; November 18-Abington; November 19-Hazle Township; November 20-Kingston; January 15-Wilkes-Barre Market Street; January 28-Hazleton Church Street; and February 4-Wyoming Valley Mall.

In addition, PNC Bank will hold tabling events at select Penguins home games, giving the public the opportunity to obtain a PNC Bank Penguins Visa Check Card, checks and checkbook cover with their new or existing PNC Bank checking account. The Penguins are offering a 10% discount on all Penguins-logo merchandise sold at their team store locations in Wilkes-Barre (415 Arena Hub Plaza) and Pittston (Ice Box Skating Complex) to all customers making a purchase with their PNC Bank Visa Check Card.
