Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), have signed goaltender Terry Denike to an American Hockey League contract and assigned him to the Reading Royals of the ECHL, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. Denike, 22, has not appeared in a professional game this season. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, attended camp with both the Kings and the Monarchs before signing with the Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League. Denike will be in uniform later tonight when the Royals host the Wheeling Nailers at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Denike, a fifth-round selection (152nd overall) of the Kings at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, collected a 2-5-1 record, a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .888 save-percentage in 19 appearances with Lake Superior State University (CCHA) last year.

The Monarchs next home game is scheduled for Saturday, November 1 against the Lowell Lock Monsters (7:35 p.m.). Single seats in the Gold Level and 700 seats in the Silver Level remain for that game. Every fan attending Saturday's game will receive an 8 x 10 photo of Monarchs defenseman Joe Rullier, courtesy of the New Hampshire Prevention and Control Program.

Join the Monarchs as they host the Norfolk Admirals on Sunday, November 2 (4:05 p.m.) for Resident Rewards Night. You could win one of several prizes, including spectacular New Hampshire getaways like a three-day, two-night stay at the BALSAMS Wilderness.
