
Sound Tigers Announce Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced several transactions. Goaltender Scott Stirling, who is on an AHL contract with the Sound Tigers, has been assigned to the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies while Defenseman Derrick Byfuglien and Forwards Nathan Gillies, Neil Posillico and John Longo were released from the team's training camp roster.
The Sound Tigers will practice at Bridgeport's Wonderland of Ice tomorrow and Friday at 10 a.m. and finish the 2003 preseason with two games this weekend visiting the Worcester IceCats in Marlboro, Massachusetts Friday at 7 p.m. and hosting the Manchester Monarchs at the Winter Garden Arena in Ridgefield Saturday at 4:05 p.m.
Tickets for this Saturday's game can be purchased in-person at the Winter Garden Arena at 111 Prospect Ridge in Ridgefield or on-line at www.wintergardenarena.com. Tickets for Saturday's game cost $20 each and include an additional ticket for the Sound Tigers' regular-season home opener versus the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday, October 11th at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The Sound Tigers will open the 2003-04 regular season on the road versus the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, October 10th at 7:05 p.m. before returning home to host Philadelphia the following night.
The Sound Tigers are beginning their third season of play and first under the guidance of new Head Coach Greg Cronin.
