Solar Bears Acquire Goulet from Aces

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have acquired D Alain Goulet from the Alaska Aces, completing a trade that sent C Alexandre Imbeault to the Aces in October.
Goulet (6'3", 194 lbs.) has played 24 games for the Alaska Aces this season, scoring one goal and adding four assists along with 10 PIM. He split the 2011-12 season between Bakersfield and Cincinnati, combining for eight goals and 18 assists in 62 games. During the 2010-11 season, Goulet earned a 16-game stint with the Providence Bruins (AHL), where he tallied two goals and six assists for eight points in 16 games. That season, he also played in 43 games with the Reading Royals, picking up 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists). Goulet made his professional debut with Providence in 2009-10, playing in 71 games and recording 18 points on three goals and 15 assists.
Hailing from Kapuskasing, Ontario, Goulet played two seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 2007-09, appearing in 54 games with eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Goulet also played 32 games for the Gatineau Olympiques in the 2008-09 season, where he registered 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points.
"Goulet is a solid defenseman who brings a strong amount of AHL experience to the team," said Head Coach Drake Berehowsky. "He has very good presence in the defensive zone."
