The Alaska Aces have traded defenseman Alain Goulet to the Orlando Solar Bears to complete a deal from earlier in the season, and loaned defenseman William Wrenn to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League Aces Head Coach, Rob Murray announced on Tuesday. In October, the Aces acquired Alexandre Imbeault from Orlando for future considerations. The Aces begin a three-week road trip on Friday night against the Idaho Steelheads at 5:10pm AKT. His departure to Orlando completes Alaska's trade for Imbeault in exchange for future considerations from late October. Since being acquired by Alaska Imbeault has 28 points (9g, 19a) in 38 games.
Wrenn, 21, is set to make his AHL debut after beginning his pro career with the Aces this season. The 6'1", 210 lbs. defenseman is a former second round (43rd overall) draft pick of the San Jose Sharks - Worcester's NHL affiliate. He has 18 points (5g, 13a) in 40 games this season. A local product from Anchorage, Wren is one of only two players to have played in every Aces game so far this season. Earlier in January, Wrenn was named to the 2013 All-Star Team as Alaska's lone representative.
