Reign Add Boots to Lineup

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced the signing of forward Ian Boots.

Boots, a 26-year-old forward from Akwesanse NY, will join the Reign in Bakersfield after spending the first half of the 2012-13 season between the Huntsville Havoc (SPHL) and Fort Worth Brahmas (CHL). With the Havoc he played in 23 games scoring five goals and assisting on seven for a total of 12 points. After making the move to Fort Worth, Boots appeared in five games and scored one goal. Last season he signed with the Reign, but did not play for the team.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward split his four-year collegiate career between Ohio State University (CCHA) and SUNY-Osewgo (SUNYAC). He played in 108 games and recorded 97 points split between 38 goals and 59 assists. He led his team in points his junior year when he earned 40 in 28 games at SUNY-Oswego. Boots, the team's alternate captain, was named to the 2012 NCAA All-Tournament Team.

Boots played a season of junior level hockey in the CJHL between the Cornwall Colts and Brockville Braves for a total of 54 games earning 74 points (33g, 41a).
