ECHL All-Star Game to be Televised to over 10 Million Households

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced that the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game presented by University of Colorado Health will be available in over 10 million homes.

The game will be available live on Altitude Sports & Entertainment, Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Ohio, GCI in Alaska and Time Warner Cable Sportsnet in Ohio.

It will be rebroadcast on New England Sports Network (Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m. ET) and NHL Network U.S. (Check local listings). Altitide will rebroadcast the game on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 4 a.m. ET and at 3 p.m. ET and on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The broadcast will also be available online worldwide through America One at www.americaone.com .

The 2013 ECHL All-Star Week, presented by CCM, begins on Tuesday, Jan. 22 with the ECHL All-Star Skills Competition, presented by OtterBox, and continues with the ECHL All-Star Game presented by University of Colorado Health, featuring the Colorado Eagles taking on the ECHL All-Stars, on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Both events begin at 7:05 p.m. MT at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.

Seen in more than 3.1 million homes in a 10 state territory, Altitude is the television home of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Eagles, Denver Outlaws, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, ESPN Syndication (including Big 12 Conference and Western Athletic Conference events,) as well as other local and regional sports, entertainment and public service programming. The game will be called by the Colorado Avalanche television crew, which consists of Mike Haynes (play-by-play), Peter McNab (color commentary) and Kyle Keefe (sideline reporter).

Haynes is in his 18th season as the voice of the Colorado Avalanche. After spending 10-plus seasons calling play-by-play for the Avalanche radio broadcasts, Haynes moved to television during the 2005-06 season and begins his eighth year in that role for Altitude Sports & Entertainment. Haynes has been honored as Denver's "Best Sportscaster" by Westword magazine on four occasions, and was voted the fans' favorite play-by-play announcer in Colorado in the 2002 Denver Post Fan Forum.

McNab begins his 13th season as the Colorado Avalanche's television color analyst, lending his hockey expertise and a unique perspective on the game of hockey. Regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic color analysts in the game, McNab brings 14 years of NHL playing experience to the Avalanche broadcasts. McNab played in the NHL for the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks and concluded his playing career with the New Jersey Devils. McNab posted six 35-plus goal seasons and tallied 40 or more goals twice during his career. He finished his career with 363 goals and 450 assists in 954 games. McNab was an NHL All-Star in 1977 and reached the Stanley Cup Finals in three straight seasons from 1975-77.

Former ECHL broadcasters working in the NHL include John Ahlers and Steve Carroll of the Anaheim Ducks, Tom Callahan of the Nashville Predators, Dave Goucher of the Boston Bruins, Chris Kerber of the St. Louis Blues, Jack Michaels of the Edmonton Oilers, Dave Mishkin of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Bob McElligott of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

More than 50 players from the ECHL All-Star Game have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 39 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The sixth class will be inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 23, 2013 during a luncheon ceremony presented by BFL Canada at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, the official host hotel of the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game. Click here to download the ticket order form.

The past nine ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.

The game has been available on the NHL Network the last nine years as well as being broadcast on multiple regional networks. The audio broadcast has been carried on XM Satellite Radio as well as being available in all ECHL markets.
