August 1, 2005 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Snappers win 9-3 in the finale of a four game set with the Clinton LumberKings. The Snappers took three of four games against the LumberKings and move to 19 -19 for the second half of the season. Back to back home runs by Deacon Burns and David Winfree in the third inning sparked the Snappers high scoring offense. Emerson Frostad of the LumberKings tried to answer back in the top of the 4th with a home run of his own, but the comeback attempt was short lived when Trevor Plouffe added a two run home run in the bottom of the inning. The Snappers bats never cooled and scored four more runs over the next 5 innings. Kevin Slowey was earned the win and his first decision of the season, whileDavid Shinskie received his first save of the season in long relief.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and the West Michigan Whitecaps will play game one of a four game set Tuesday, August 2nd at 7:00 pm.
